Brandman University
Brandman University was founded in 1958 with the purpose of meeting the education needs of military personnel. It continues to do so by expanding to meet those needs through their distance learning or online programs.
Brandman University offers online programs in the following fields: General Education, Applied Studies, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Development, Legal Studies, Liberal Studies, Culture and Media Studies, Organizational Leadership and Development, Psychology, Social Science, Education, Human Resources, and Nutrition and Wellness. It also offers two online certification programs in Autism Spectrum Disorders (added Authorization) and California Teachers of English Learners Authorization.
Admission requirements is as follows:
● official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
● minimum high school of GPA 2.0
● completed application form
● $50 application fee – waived for online applicants
Tuition for online courses for the academic year of 2010-2011 is as follows:
● Undergraduate – $450/credit hour
● Graduate – $550/credit hour
True to their thrust the university gives applicants who are on active military duty, as well as their spouse and dependents, discounted tuition at only $250/credit hour for undergraduate online courses and $440/credit hour for graduate online courses.
Financial aid is also available to non-military student in the form of loans, grants and scholarships.
The university is regionally accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). It has also received accreditation from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing for its education and credentials program and is a proud member of the Council for Adult & Experiential Learning (CAEL).
