Chamberlain College of Nursing

Chamberlain College of Nursing, formerly known as the Deaconess College of Nursing, was established in 1889. It was acquired by the DeVry, Inc. in 2005, which prompted the change in name in 2006. It is currently composed of six campuses located in Addison, Arlington, Chicago, Columbus, Phoenix, and St. Louis. It is accredited by the The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC).

Online programs at Chamberlain include an Associate Degree of Nursing program, a fast track RN to Bachelor’s Science Nursing degree program, and a Master of Science Nursing Degree program. Note that the Associate Degree of Nursing Program is also available on-site but only at the Columbus, Ohio site.

Basic qualifications for admissions to Chamberlain is as follows:

● ACT composite score (minimum 21), SAT CR-M score (minimum 990), A2 Admission Assessment score (minimum 75)
● High school CGPA of 2.75
● College CGPA of 2.75
● GPA of 2.0 is accepted for any coursework taken since completion of the nursing program for RN to BSN applicants
● Unencumbered nursing license (RNs and LPNs)
● Minimum grade of C in all nursing courses from any previous nursing education.
● TOEFL score of 550 – for applicants whose native language is not English.

Tuition at Chamberlain effective July 2010 ranges from $575 to $650 per credit hour, depending on the program. Military and military spouse rate ranges from $250 to $550 per credit hour.

Approximately 80% of students at Chamberlain receive financial aid in the form scholarships, grants, and loans.
