Keiser University Online
Keiser University is a private, for-profit university established in 1977 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Its main goal was to provide students and Florida’s growing business and healthcare communities with the necessary skills and know-how to insure successful employment after graduation.
Regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Keiser University provides educational programs for undergraduate and graduate levels both traditionally – via classes held at its main campus in Fort Lauderdale and in 12 other campuses in Daytona Beach, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Kendall, Lakeland, Melbourne, Orlando, Pembroke Pines, Port St. Lucie, Sarasota, Tampa and West Palm Beach – and non-traditionally via its online campus.
Known as eCampus Online, Keiser’s online campus, which was created in 1999, offers 100% via the Internet the same degree programs available on campus. These degree programs include Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, Master’s and doctorate degrees in various majors like business, criminal justice, health care, technology, hospitality and education plus a core curriculum made up of career-focused general studies. These online education programs were created specifically for students who may not have the opportunity to attend regular classes at Keiser University but who nonetheless wish to complete their degrees and equip themselves with skills for high-demand professions.
Tuition costs and other admission requirements for online degree programs are the same as those for on-campus programs. Tuition per semester for fulltime undergraduate students is US$6,356 and for fulltime graduate students, US$7,036. Financial aid is extended in the form of loans, grants and scholarships for qualified students.
Keiser University’s eCampus Online was ranked number 11 of 44 colleges and universities in the 2009 rankings published by the Online Education Database (OEDb).
