Western International University Online
Western International University (WIU), founded in 1978, was originally a non-profit educational institution. Today, the university, which has 3 campuses in Arizona, is a for-profit institution owned by one of the leading educational corporations in the United States – the Apollo Group. It offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in its three campuses, as well as its virtual campus – WIU Interactive Online.
WIU is very proud of its virtual campus due to the interactivity it brings. Instead of the usual text-based online courses, WIU Interactive Online classes are held real-time, allowing students to interact live with their instructors and fellow students. Real-time online classes are recorded so that everyone can access a copy of the class afterwards for review.
Currently, undergraduate programs available at WIU are in the fields of Accounting, Behavioral Science, Business, Business Administration, Criminal Behavior, Human Resource Management, Information Technology, Legal Studies, Management, and Professional Communication. Master degree programs available are Master’s in Business Administration (MBA with specializations in International Business, Management, and Marketing), Finance, Information Systems Engineering, Human Dynamics, Innovative Leadership, and Public Administration.
Tuition at WIU Online for undergraduate programs is as follows: $400 per credit hour (lower division), and $485 per credit hour (upper division). For online graduate programs, tuition is $570 per credit hour. Students on active military duty get discounted tuition for both undergraduate and graduate programs of only $250 per credit hour.
